BSAC has been recording and reporting on diving incidents since 1964. The lessons learned from diving incidents are relevant to all divers regardless of their training and diving background.
An Annual Diving Incidents Report is produced by BSAC’s National Diving Committee, through its Incidents Adviser. The report analyses all facts relating to diving incidents and accidents. This research feeds BSAC’ training and safety advice along with Safe Diving Guide.
Why you should report a diving incident
Your diving incident report will feed into research that benefits divers worldwide and will hopefully save another diver from experiencing the incident you encountered. It is an opportunity that allows ALL divers to learn from the incidents experienced by others which makes diving safer for all.
Please Note: Reports submitted are treated in the strictest confidence and no personal identifying details are included in the published Annual Report.
