Following an extensive recruitment process, BSAC has appointed a second independent Non-Executive Director, with extensive experience of sporting organisations.

Caroline Royle is a seasoned professional who has been working for over two decades in the marketing and partnerships sector.

Her appointment to the board of BSAC helps cement the organisation’s ambition to bring a level of independence in decision-making and experience from other industries. Caroline will join Alistair Dickson, who was appointed as BSAC’s first independent Non-Executive Director (NED) earlier this year.

About Caroline

As the Head of Marketing and Partnerships at England Lacrosse, she has successfully managed and motivated a cohesive communications team to achieve strategic objectives across all business areas. Caroline has set commercial strategies, secured sponsorships, and developed partnerships, playing a pivotal role in major events such as the 2010 Men's Lacrosse Championship in Manchester and the 2017 Women's Lacrosse Championship in London. Both events were profitable and secured significant commercial sponsorships, underscoring her expertise in high-level strategic planning and execution.

Caroline's dedication to community sports is evident through her involvement in various initiatives, including assisting in the development of a junior section at her golf club. Her commitment extends beyond her professional responsibilities, reflecting her passion for positively impacting sports organisations at all levels.

In addition to her practical experience, Caroline has continued to enhance her knowledge through various qualifications and professional courses. She holds a postgraduate diploma in digital marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing and has been commended by the European Sponsorship Association for her professional sponsorship award.

With one eye on the future, she has recently undertaken a course on Artificial Intelligence in marketing, staying abreast of industry developments.

Speaking about Caroline’s appointment Edward Haynes, BSAC Chair said:

I'm looking forward to Caroline joining BSAC Council (the Board), her experience in marketing fills a knowledge gap; and coming from outside BSAC she will provide the rigour of an outsider.
