Following on from the success of BSAC’s first NW Diving Festival at Capernwray last year, the event will be returning this September.
Originally held to mark BSAC’s 70th, the event saw more than 200 members attending the day to help celebrate the milestone anniversary. Now, thanks to popular demand, Friday, 27 September will see its return, this time re-named the NW Dive Festival.
Organised by the North West Regional Team and supported by BSAC, the event at Capernwray Dive centre in Lancashire is promises a jam-packed day of activities, both in and out of the water.
While the itinerary is still being finalised, an underwater photo competition, treasure hunt, scooter sessions and CCR try dives are just some of the activities attendees can expect. The day will also be compered by DJ Coshe. Current event sponsors include Apeks, Northern Diver, AP Diving, Fourth Element, Dive Manchester and the NW Underwater Police Search team.
Designed to bring people together to celebrate and enjoy the sport of diving, the NW Dive Festival is open to all BSAC members.
North West Regional Coach Stephen Dorricott, who, alongside his team is coordinating this year’s event, said he was delighted to be able to bring the dive festival back to Capernwray.
We were thrilled at how well the event went last year; members are still talking about it!
This isn’t just for North West clubs and members, it an open invite to all members – we’d love to see you there. Tickets will go on sale soon but for now please circle the date.
Full details of the NW Dive Festival, including how you can buy your ticket, will be released soon. In the meantime, for further information on the event, contact Stephen at northwest.coach@bsac.com
