Keep up with our new BSAC blog writer Alice Gornall, Chair of the Loughborough Students Union Sub Aqua Club (LSUSAC), as she takes us along with her on her journey as a newly qualified Open Water Instructor.
Hey! Now that exams are out the way we’ve got back into training and it’s all go trying to get ready for open water when the weather (slightly) improves...maybe not so much this week!
I've put a short video together of our activities this month, it also helps us to promote to potential members to show what our club is all about, enjoy!
The first week back after exams we had a visit from local dive store, GoDive, to sort all our Ocean Divers with their new kit ready for open water. We ran a pop-up shop so they had the opportunity to try before they bought which as we know is so important! This helped us out greatly and we really appreciate the guys coming to see us AND having all the orders ready to pick up 4 days later!
We’ve just finished our Ocean Diver and Sports Diver course and are about to start a second wave of the Ocean Diver course and the Dive Leader course, which our more seasoned members of the club are excited about.
On an unexciting note, however, my Valentines Day this year consisted of coursework and then scuba training with my boyfriend (the club Diving Officer) - I hope some of you had more exciting plans prepared for you!
We’re also in the process of organising our Annual Dinner in April so if you are a past member of LSUSAC please get in touch if you want to know the details and possibly come along!!
