Do you want to help move BSAC forward and play a key role in its growth and development? Then why not put yourself forward for election to the BSAC Council in 2022!
We are now inviting members with the right skills, experience, enthusiasm, and drive to join the BSAC Council.
The 2022 Election sees BSAC at a crucial point, as the organisation works to move beyond the challenges of the Covid pandemic and embrace its strategic aim of being the ‘go to’ community for anyone wanting to learn about, enjoy and protect the underwater world.
The council positions becoming available – Chair and four ordinary council members – in May 2022 will be key to BSAC’s strategic success.
BSAC Chair, Maria Harwood, said joining the council team would be a rewarding experience.
It has been a challenging couple of years for BSAC and its volunteers have been pivotal in ensuring that the organisation has been able to weather the pandemic.
With some exciting opportunities now ahead, BSAC Council needs candidates with the right mix of business leadership experience and skills to help shape the future of BSAC.
We also need a Chair who will provide leadership to Council, take responsibility for Council’s effectiveness, and support and guide the CEO to ensure that BSAC meets its key objectives.
Skills and experience
Council is the board of directors of BSAC, and so it is your business leadership that we need rather than your diving expertise, although we do have a shared passion for diving.
We would particularly welcome members who have board-level or senior management expertise in any of these areas:
- Business development and product development
- Legal and commercial management
- Human resources / organisational transformation
- Financial management
- Programme management / business change management
- Numerical analytical skills
- Strategy and risk management
- IT-enabled business change and programme management.
- Policy development
- Marketing and branding
- Communications and social media exploitation
