I’m a recreational diver who loves being out on a boat away from the stresses of life. I enjoy teaching people; faces on trainees who have achieved a new skill is just amazing! I learnt to dive at school, continuing at University, before joining local clubs, as I moved with work, in several UK regions.
As I pick up the SW Coaching baton from previous excellent post-holders I am reminded that fundamentally we all want to go diving for the enjoyment and camaraderie that it brings, together perhaps with enhancing our knowledge, skills and care for the delicate environment we find underwater hidden from the vast majority of people. Initially I will be looking at helping clubs do the diving and training they aspire to, and also look to foster inter-club cooperation which will allow greater involvement in both Skill Development Course training, Instructor Training and exciting diving.

A very warm welcome to David as he joins the Regional Team. He will be supporting our branches in one of the most exciting and varied coastal parts of the UK, which takes in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol and not forgetting the Isles of Scilly and Lundy Island - all of which are big draws for UK divers.
We know David is keen to see more branches working together and look forward to having him on the team as he helps BSAC to thrive in the South West area.
BSAC also wishes to thank Rob Jackson, who is vacating the position after three years in the role of South West coach.
