From Friday 17 January 2025, the majority of reloadable gift cards currently available on BSAC Plus will be removed and unavailable to order and top-up.
Important: Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, M&S and John Lewis/Waitrose reloadable gift cards won’t be impacted by this change and will continue to be available via BSAC Plus (managed by Boostworks). The full range of instant digital vouchers will also remain available.
BSAC Plus is a discounts scheme that can save members (and their family) hundreds of pounds every year on items they already buy! From supermarket and high street shopping to meals out and cinema trips, BSAC members can save on all kinds of spending at their favourite places and make their money go further.
Reloadable card changes
From 17 January 2025, it will no longer be possible to top-up reloadable gift card(s) through BSAC Plus (this impacts all cards except the five retailers previously mentioned).
If a member has a direct debit set up for any cards due to be removed, the card(s) will be automatically removed from their direct debit before 17 January – there is no need for the member to cancel it.
Any remaining balances on reloadable gift card(s) can still be spent beyond 17 January. Plus, for nearly all reloadable gift cards being removed, there’s an instant voucher alternative available through BSAC Plus which gives members a faster and more convenient way to earn cashback on shopping in 2025.
New vouchers added to BSAC Plus in recent weeks include Deliveroo, Matalan, Airbnb, Uber Eats and more.
The benefit of using instant digital vouchers is that they’re delivered instantly, with no need to activate them before using them. They're sent to members via email and added to a BSAC Plus account wallet to use to pay for shopping.
Next steps
Existing reloadable gift card(s) can be used and topped up until Friday 17 January 2025. After that date, the card(s) will be removed from BSAC Plus and unavailable to top-up.
If you have a reloadable gift card for Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, M&S or John Lewis/Waitrose, please know that it won’t be impacted by this change.
