BSAC is holding a bumper number of events this summer to cross over instructors who qualified with other agencies.
The Instructor Crossover Course (ICC) is for diving instructors who hold open-water instructor qualifications from other agencies such as PADI, SAA, CMAS, SDI, Raid and many others, who want to teach the BSAC Diver Training Programme (DTP) in BSAC clubs or Centres.
How to crossover to BSAC
To transfer and become a BSAC instructor, an existing instructor only needs to attend a one-day course. Their skills and the instructor qualification already achieved elsewhere are recognised and valued, making it straightforward to become a qualified BSAC instructor.
The Instructor Crossover Course is held regularly at venues nationwide. It’s great fun, and on the day attendees will mix with other aspiring instructors from far and wide, giving them the chance to see how other BSAC instructors do things.
During in-water practical sessions, the students will see how BSAC instructors teach skills and get plenty of feedback, as course instructors will give advice and guidance on their journey to becoming a BSAC Open Water Instructor.
There will be no assessment at the end of the course – BSAC values the skills the person already has, as proven by their qualification card.
