BSAC CEO Mary Tetley, and Sophie Rennie, National Diving Officer share their New Year reflections and the outlook for the BSAC community in 2025.

As 2024 comes to an end, I'd like thank all of you for your support and loyalty. It was great to see so many of you at the Conference. After five years of not being able to hold a conference, due to Covid, it was really good to see you all face-to-face.
In 2025 we're really looking forward to working on our new strategy with all of you, focusing on five year, five ambitions. We'll be looking at recruitment, how people learn to dive with BSAC, the environment, snorkelling and diving, and of course we'll be launching our new AMS - our association management software/MyBSAC platform.
We'll also be at the Go Diving Show in early March and would love to see some of you face to face, so if you can make the show it will be great to see you. In the meantime though I'd like to just wish you all a very happy new year, and look forward to seeing many of you in 2025.

It's winter and it's pretty horrible, so it's a good time to get into the pool if you can and brush up on those rescue skills - and also any instructors you could go and do your online AED refresher - that'd be really cool to get that done.
What's new for 2025? Well, we've got a one-day IFC (Instructor Foundation Course) so that means that you can train to be an Assistant Diving Instructor using eLearning, and then just go to a pool and do the one-day pool and workshop training. Also new for 2025 we've got regional training to include some Ocean Diver pool and open water opportunities so that'll hopefully support some of the clubs. We've also got some open water snorkelling events, so please make sure you join in if you wish to, and then we'll let you know about that.
And finally I just want to say that we'll all here for you from headquarters, and that's to support you as either clubs, instructors, or centres. So please don't hesitate to get in touch.
All that's left is for me to wish you a happy new year, and bring on 2025.
