North West Dive Fest Capernwray

You will need to bring your own diving equipment and pay for entry into Capernwray.

During the day, as well as general diving, there will be opportunities to try out equipment 

Rebreather Try Dives

We are holding series of Try Dive Sessions on AP and Liberty Rebreathers each slot lasting approx. 60 mins.

You will receive a short safety briefing and introduction to the unit before entering the water.

The maximum depth will be 6m in the Quarry where you will experience the difference between Open Circuit and Closed circuit diving.

You will need to be a qualified Sports Diver or above.

You will need to come prepared with a dry suit, hood, gloves, mask and fins and let us know how much weight you would use if diving with a 15 litre cylinder.

The cost is £45 bookable in advance, the dive times will be arranged a few days before the event and are expected to start from 10.00 hours.

Underwater Scooter Workshop

Dive Manchester are kindly allowing divers the opportunity to trial some top of the range U/W Scooters. You will enjoy a 30 minute session where you will be shown how to use the unit and be accompanied by an instructor.

These are the Bonex (Aqua Prop) Recreational U/W scooters capable of diving to 80ms. (doubt that in Capernwray).

Cost is £15 for 30 minute session. Please book and more details will follow.

Minimum qualification Sports diver or above.

Treasure Hunt

We are running a treasure hunt during the festival; this consists of 20 'gold' bars which have been hidden around the quarry. They weigh approx. 3kg each, so make sure you are able to carry them.

Each pair of divers is allowed to claim 1 prize (allowing others to participate). Each gold bar has a number which correlates to a prize, these have been kindly donated by our supporters.

Main prizes to be announced.

All you have to do is find the gold bar and return to the organisers to claim your prize.
