St Kilda Expedition

Vectis Expeditions, in conjunction with support from Halton Charters, is planning a week long diving expedition to the island of St Kilda in May 2024.

St Kilda is an isolated archipelago about 40 miles from North Uist in the North Atlantic. It was the first place in Scotland to be inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a special place, offering superb and challenging diving on walls, underwater caves, arches, and chasms. 

It is a challenge to get there and hence the sturdy and comfortable dive platform to maximise our chance of getting a there and diving. Departing from Ullapool on the Scottish mainland to minimise the transit time, we’ll plot a course to St Kilda based on the latest weather forecast at the time, undertaking shakedown dives en-route. The diving on route is also remote, challenging and of a high quality! We will be going off grid a little as there is no mobile phone reception, wifi or internet access at St Kilda and at some of the places en-route.

This expedition will be another great opportunity for divers working towards BSAC Advanced Diver to tick a few more of those experience boxes.

The expedition vessel is MV Clasina provided by Halton Charters. It is a live aboard with 6 cabins for 12 divers. Gas fills (Air and Nitrox), drying room, large kitting up benches, Galley/Lounge, 2x toilet/showers and laundry facilities on board.

Budget approx £1500 for 6 days diving

For diving, onboard accommodation, air fills (Nitrox extra)

Meals onboard except first and last nights where we will eat out somewhere.
